Computing

Computing Intent Statement

At our school, we understand that computing is an integral part of preparing children to live in a world where technology is a constant part of society. Therefore, we want to educate our pupils on how to use technology positively, responsibly and safely. We want our curriculum to prepare our children for the future workplace and the digital world. We recognise that the best prevention for many issues we currently see with technology/social media is through education. Our well-planned online safety units, based on Purple Mash, give children the opportunities to discuss staying safe online and to learn strategies to keep themselves safe. We provide children with cross-curricular computing opportunities through our topics, as we believe computing has deep links to many other subjects. We want our pupils to be fluent with a range of tools to best express their understanding and hope by the end of Key Stage 2, children have the independence and confidence to choose the best tool to fulfil the task and challenge set by teachers.
