School meals
At Anlaby, we believe that a healthy, balanced meal is an important part of every child’s school day. Our school meals are freshly prepared each day in line with the government’s School Food Standards, ensuring pupils enjoy nutritious food that supports their wellbeing and learning.
Children can choose from a variety of hot meals, including vegetarian options, as well as a selection of fresh fruit, vegetables, and salads. Menus are designed to encourage healthy choices and to cater for a wide range of tastes. Special dietary needs, allergies, and cultural or religious requirements are carefully catered for — please let us know if your child has any specific needs.
We encourage families to take advantage of the Free School Meals entitlement for eligible children. All pupils in Reception, Year 1, and Year 2 are entitled to a free hot meal every day through the Universal Infant Free School Meals scheme.
Children may also bring a packed lunch from home if they prefer. We kindly ask that packed lunches follow our healthy eating guidance to ensure all pupils enjoy a balanced diet at school.
If you would like more information about our menus, free school meal eligibility, or dietary needs, please contact the school office.
